One Day Drop in Seat Course - October

About the Event
In this course, you will learn how to strip down and reupholster a drop in seat for a dining chair. By the end of the day you will be able to walk away with you very own hand crafted seat pad having learnt a new set of skills that can be put to use in future projects.
Either bring in your own chair seat or use one provided for by us for a small charge. If you would like to purchase a full dining chair we are happy to source something for you too! You will need 1 metre of upholstery fabric which you are welcome to bring yourself or purchase from us, we have an extensive range of fabrics and offer a 10% discount for all students.
Some of the skills you will learn on the day include:
- How to strip down your seat and assess any structural work or repairs required
- Essential basic upholstery skills including learning how to use specialized tools, traditional webbing techniques and how to choose the correct filling for your seat pad.
- How to meaure up you seat for fabric, measuring up for future projects, cutting fabric correctly and how to orientate fabric correctly on projects
Courses run on Saturday day times 10am - 4pm
60 min break for lunch (either bring your own packed lunch or visit one of the fabulous local restuarants and cafes in the arena)
Tea, Coffee and biscuits will be provided
Drop In Seat Course
+£3.50 service fee
This is for our Drop In Seat course. Bring a long our own drop in seat and learn how to strip down and reupholster it in your own material. We provide all tools and upholstery materials. You will require your own drop in dining seat and one metre of fabric. Contact us to purchase fabric from our extensive range at a 10% discount available to all students. If you would like us to provide the drop in seat for the course this can be arranged at a charge of £10.
